I was literally running out of the airport to the city center during my 3-hour layover in Copenhagen. I simply couldn’t contain my excitement the moment I got out of the metro. This is where I first experience the true feel of European “glamour”.

I took this flight to get a chance to see the gorgeous and vibrant port of Nyhavn, and it did not disappoint. Though, I was hesitant at first as three hours isn’t all that long.

The Copenhagen Airport is one of the easiest, non-stressful, airport I have been to. There is a metro line going straight from the airport to the city center which takes roughly 15 minute ride each way.

Nyhavn is an exceptionally gorgeous harbor side surrounded by old buildings and beautiful colors that have over the years been converted to residential and commercial properties. This is a popular spot for tourists, a perfect place to just sit and watch people pass by. All the risk and exhaustion was totally worth it. I just hope I had more time to explore other places. I will definitely go back!

How to get to Nyhavn from Copenhagen Airport?

  • Just take the metro from the airport to Kongens Nytorv station about 8 stops. (DKK 36 per person).
  • Nyhavn is 2-3 mins walk from the metro station.
