Prague is broadly considered one of the most stunning cities in the world, dubbed as “The golden city of one hundred spires,” because of its beautiful cathedrals and their pointy spires. The city is rich of spectacular and unique Romanesque and Gothic architectures that permeate the atmosphere, a fairytale like settings. It is the new “Paris” of the east.
There is no “time of year” to Prague. It upholds its charm year-long. It is a great walking town with decent public transportation and a fascinating history. There is a lot to see and do. However there is one snag, you never have enough time on a holiday to do it all. It will take you several days to experience all the grandeur of the city as exploring the cobble stone streets yields one interesting sight after another.
It is also the only major European capitol to be untouched by wartime bombs. Anyone can easily fall in love walking in a cobblestone while getting lost in the town with its dazzling architecture, and the sense of enchantment that hangs over the city.
So why do millions of people from all around the world go to Prague each year?
Definitely it is more than the numerous stag parties or exceptional local beers.There is so much beauty and wonder in Prague.
Be prepared. If you know you’ll be here through winter make sure you bring a warm coat with you. Weather can drop to below zero degree.
The city has an efficient public transportation system; Trams, Metros, and buses can take you unquestionably anywhere you want to go and have very frequent schedules. But the best way to enjoy this town is by foot.

This incredibly beautiful city has a special part in my heart. Life might be difficult for a while, and it’s wild to think how it can drastically change in only a short period of time. My stay in Prague has brought me to the realization that nothing can stop the person with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal. We need to tough it out, stop resisting life and live it. I am now abounding with gratitude for the small things; kindness, friendship, the togetherness of family, smile, a great time shared with friends, the worth in travel and quest, and the enormous blessing and splendor in each day we’re given.
- From airport, buy a 32kc ticket; stamp it once on the bus. It is good for 90 mins to get you to downtown.
- Take bus 119 to its termination/ switch to metro.
