Yet another reason you should make the island of Burias, Masbate your next weekend destination!

Masbate is truly endowed with spectacular natural beauty, unspoilt and enchanting. Travelling to this gorgeous island may be long and grueling, but it is well worth the long travel; white sand, azure water and open sky can leave you mesmerized.

For the most part, the island is still quite hidden from the crowds of tourist, partly due to its remote location.

My friends and I decided to join a prearranged trip we found in facebook to save time and cost. You just pay, show up to the meeting place and enjoy the whole journey. It is a total hassle-free weekend getaway.

We arrived in the meeting place 15 minutes before the departure time, and the travel took us almost 11 hours before reaching San Andres Port in Quezon. Rich, our organizer have prepared a packed breakfast before we start the Island hopping.

Alibijaban (Alibihaban) Island

Is a small island filled with mangroves and beautiful sand bar, unspoiled and preserved with its natural beauty.

Animasola Island

Is a latin word for “lonely soul”, a Catholic depiction of a suffering person. But the beauty of its rock formation will blow your mind as it look so bizarre.

Dapa Island

We didn’t have a chance to explore this island since it’s already high tide when we got there. We just enjoyed its beauty from afar. Though I tried to swim but there was a lot of tiny jelly fish in there, and according to the boatmen there are even venomous sea snakes. Nonetheless, you will enjoy the rugged feature, cave-like rock formation and turquoise of this island.

Sombrero Island

The island looks a lot like a silhouette of an archetypal hat. It is a perfect place where you can go for a well-deserved quality time away from the busting city life. There are several cottages in the island but you can still bring in your tent for an impeccable camping style adventure

Tinalisayan Island

This is the most gorgeous island among the beaches we visited on this trip. The island is blessed with favorable chalky white fine sand, stunning rock formation, and unbelievably crystal water. There’s also a long sand bar.

The best part of joining a group has always been the chance you get to know different people, and probably gain a new set of friends. On our first night, Rich has organized a simple socialization wherein we got to know some of the participants. I must say, it was fun!

If you want a free-hassle weekend getaway, you may directly contact Rich for trip schedule. highly recommended.
