The municipality of Mariveles is situated in the province of Bataan in the Philippines. Its name derived from “Maraming Dilis”(plentiful anchovies) shortened to Mara-dilis and eventually became Mariveles. The place plays a significant role in the history as it is the starting point of the famous “Bataan Death March” on April 9, 1942.

How to get there?

  1. By private vehicle, it is only three to four hours away from manila. You can take either the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) or Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (STEX).
  2. By Public transportation, take a bus in Pasay, Cubao or Manila going to Mariveles, Bataan.
