The municipality of Mariveles is situated in the province of Bataan in the Philippines. Its name derived from “Maraming Dilis”(plentiful anchovies) shortened to Mara-dilis and eventually became Mariveles. The place plays a significant role in the history as it is the starting point of the famous “Bataan Death March” on April 9, 1942.
How to get there?
- By private vehicle, it is only three to four hours away from manila. You can take either the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) or Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (STEX).
- By Public transportation, take a bus in Pasay, Cubao or Manila going to Mariveles, Bataan.
